Cloudflare Containers is now in public beta for users on paid plans. The offering lets developers run container workloads alongside Workers.
The launch targets use cases such as media processing, backend services in other languages and command-line batch work. Containers integrate with the Workers deployment workflow.
Two execution options
Workers remains useful for lightweight request logic. A container can support workloads that need a fuller execution environment or software not suited to the Workers runtime.
The beta is not a claim that every traditional server can move unchanged. Teams need to test startup behavior, resource limits and the data services their container calls, and compare those costs with a conventional hosting setup.
