Exoscale has made its database-as-a-service offering generally available, following the July preview. The launch includes managed PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka and caching services.
General availability brings enforced SLAs, full support and the start of billing. CLI and API interfaces are available, while Terraform support is described as a beta at this point.
A managed backend for the stack
The offering lets teams place a managed data service beside Exoscale compute and Kubernetes instead of maintaining every database process themselves.
That changes the operational split, but the application still needs a suitable data model, access controls and a tested restore plan. Compare capacity, backups and network placement together when evaluating the service.
