Firebase previews App Hosting for server-rendered web apps

A managed GitHub-to-deployment workflow starts with Angular and Next.js support.

Firebase has introduced App Hosting in public preview. The service is designed for server-rendered web applications, starting with Angular and Next.js workflows.

It connects a GitHub repository to managed builds, deployment, server-side execution and CDN delivery. That addresses an application shape that needs more than uploading a set of static files.

Where it fits

Teams using Firebase for application backends gain another route to host the frontend and its server-rendered components within Google’s cloud stack.

The preview needs to be evaluated against supported frameworks and deployment behavior. Compute, build and delivery resources still have costs; a managed workflow does not turn every part of the application into a single fixed-price hosting plan.
