PostHog has introduced Cloud EU, giving customers a managed analytics option hosted in AWS’s Frankfurt region.
The service offers PostHog’s analytics, session recording and experiments in a separate instance from its US cloud. The announcement presents the new location as an alternative to self-hosting for teams that need European data placement.
Before switching
- Select the intended instance when creating the project.
- Check which data and settings can be migrated.
- Review the application’s collection and consent configuration.
An EU hosting location is one part of a privacy setup, not automatic legal compliance. The announcement is useful for a regional shortlist, while the application’s own data handling and agreements remain important.
