Salesforce has completed its acquisition of Contentful. A filing dated September 1 records the closing of the transaction under the merger agreement signed in May.
This is the completion milestone following Contentful’s public agreement announcement in June.
Two products with different jobs
Contentful provides a headless content platform for managing and delivering content to applications. Salesforce’s CRM products handle customer and business workflows. Common ownership does not make those use cases interchangeable.
For application teams, the practical questions remain product availability, API behavior, integrations and current commercial terms. The completion record does not itself state that existing Contentful customers must migrate to a different service.
