Sentry has moved Logs out of beta and into general availability. The service connects structured log entries with traces and application errors.
The release adds live tailing, log-pattern alerts and dashboards, giving developers more context while investigating failed requests or background jobs.
Useful, without collecting everything
Connected logs can make a debugging session easier, but the volume of data sent and retained still matters to cost. Teams should decide which events help investigation and avoid sending secrets or unnecessary personal data.
The addition broadens Sentry’s role beyond error reports. It does not remove the need for application-level instrumentation or a clear retention policy for the data being collected.
