Supabase announces general availability

The Postgres-based backend platform removes its beta label while continuing development of individual features.

Supabase has announced general availability for its platform. The hosted service brings Postgres together with application building blocks such as authentication, storage and edge functions.

The company says the move reflects its ability to support a wider range of production customers, alongside its open-source and self-hosting options.

Choose the operating model

A hosted Supabase project reduces the work of assembling several backend services. Self-hosting uses a different operational arrangement and requires the team to run the infrastructure itself.

Platform-wide general availability does not mean every feature introduced during launch week is also GA. Teams should check the status and plan requirements of the specific features they need, especially branching and newer deployment options.
