Where it fits
Azure spans virtual machines, containers, web applications and managed databases. App Service and Container Apps are options for deploying code without maintaining a full virtual machine. Azure Virtual Machines leave more control, and more operating-system work, with the application team.
How pricing works
Prices depend on the product, region and capacity selected. A production budget should include databases, disks, network transfer and monitoring as well as the application runtime. Reservations and savings plans reduce selected committed costs; they do not make every service a fixed monthly subscription.
Choosing a setup
Azure is useful when Microsoft identity, existing enterprise systems or .NET workloads are part of the application. Microsoft 365 is a separate finished-software offering: buying a Microsoft 365 licence does not provide an Azure hosting budget.
