Where it fits

Workers runs application code on Cloudflare’s platform without a customer-managed server. It can serve web applications and APIs, connect to storage through bindings, and use services such as queues or durable workflows. The runtime and service limits are part of the architecture.

How pricing works

Workers requests and CPU usage are distinct from storage, database and other service charges. R2’s lack of internet-egress fees does not make a Worker-based application free. Estimate the code execution and the connected products together.

Choosing a setup

Workers is useful when request handling and Cloudflare services form a compact backend. A conventional long-running server has different runtime expectations. The R2 profile explains the separate object-storage product covered by this site’s calculator.
