Where it fits
Hetzner Cloud is an infrastructure service: it provides a server and network tools while the customer runs the operating system and applications. Shared-vCPU and dedicated-vCPU plans suit different usage patterns. Hetzner also offers dedicated servers and storage products; those are separate choices from a cloud VM.
How pricing works
Cloud plans combine a machine size with a location-specific transfer allowance. Backups, volumes, extra traffic and load balancers can add to the total. Object Storage has its own base charge and usage rules, so a VM’s disk is not an object-storage subscription.
Choosing a setup
The service fits teams comfortable maintaining Linux servers and wanting a relatively direct infrastructure bill. A managed deployment platform is a different option when avoiding operating-system administration matters more than choosing a VM configuration.
