Where it fits
Sanity stores structured content in its hosted Content Lake and provides a customizable editing environment through Sanity Studio. A website or app fetches that content through APIs. Hosting the public frontend is a separate decision from choosing the content service.
How pricing works
Seats, plan features and usage allowances determine the commercial setup. API traffic, asset delivery, datasets and selected tools can affect cost. Coordinated releases and permission features have plan requirements, so the editing workflow should be considered as well as the content volume.
Choosing a setup
Sanity is useful when content models and an adaptable editing interface are central to the project. Contentful offers another hosted content approach. Vercel or Netlify can host a frontend that consumes the content, with their own deployment and traffic costs.
