Where it fits
Scaleway is a candidate when an explicit European deployment and a euro-denominated bill are useful starting requirements. The provider documents object storage in Paris, Amsterdam and Warsaw. Availability is only the first question: choose the location of your compute, the path to your users and the storage class together.
Do not replace a Multi-AZ estimate with the cheaper One Zone rate without also changing the architectural assumption. Your tolerance for a location-level failure and your recovery plan should determine which class is acceptable. This guide makes no independent durability or performance claim.
What the model includes
The calculator uses the Paris Standard Multi-AZ published hourly storage rate for a constant-capacity 730-hour month. Started GB-hour billing units are reflected by rounding the modeled capacity upward to a whole GB. Requests and ingress are included; the published monthly outbound allowance applies only when available.
Results remain in EUR. They are not sorted into a USD cheapest-provider list using an unstated exchange rate. Taxes, introductory offers, Glacier, restore charges and other products are excluded. The GB label is interpreted as decimal because the pricing page checked does not make the byte base explicit; check the billing documentation for your invoice.
A real month has a specific number of hours, and changing data sizes can round differently from a constant average. This is a planning model, not an account-usage replay. Amsterdam and Warsaw appear as documented locations rather than independently priced rows.
Integration questions
An S3-compatible endpoint lets you start with familiar client tooling, but it does not establish complete parity with AWS. Check authentication, checksum behavior, list pagination and multipart upload using the actual SDK version your application runs. Ensure the configured endpoint matches the intended region.
If data location is a contractual requirement, investigate the whole service arrangement: backups, logging, support access and any external CDN. The European storage guide separates those questions from the simple region filter.
A practical evaluation
Create a disposable bucket in the selected region and test your busiest operation sequence. Record object count as well as bytes, because many tiny objects can expose different client behavior from a few large files. Delete the test objects after recording whether your retention or versioning settings keep billable copies.
