Upsun deploys applications with their runtime, services and routes defined in project configuration. Git integrations can produce environments for branches and pull requests. Platform.sh evolved into the Upsun brand, so the former name remains useful when finding documentation or an existing account.
How pricing works
Application and service resources, storage and environments contribute to the budget. Development environments can consume capacity as well as production. Choose the resource and support arrangement for the actual project rather than assuming the rebrand changed every existing contract.
Choosing a setup
Upsun suits projects where repeatable environments and connected database services are central to the release process. It is a platform for custom applications, not a finished CMS subscription, even when it hosts a CMS.
