Where it fits
Wasabi is most relevant to stable datasets that stay stored for a long time. Backup rotation matters: keeping a bucket full does not help if its individual objects are replaced every week.
What the calculator covers
- The July 2026 Pay-Go rate of $7.99 per binary TiB-month.
- A 1 TiB monthly billing minimum.
- A complete estimate only when retention is at least 90 days and the egress policy fits.
Objects deleted early can keep creating charges until their minimum storage duration has passed. Wasabi also bills each object at a minimum of 4 KiB, so a library of very small objects needs more billable capacity than its raw byte total. Use billable capacity in the estimate; deleted-object history is not reconstructed.
Check the delivery pattern
Wasabi’s published guideline expects monthly egress to stay at or below active stored capacity. Repeated full restores or public downloads can exceed that limit. The calculator leaves such workloads incomplete rather than applying an invented overage rate.
Requests also need to fit the service’s reasonable-use terms.
